Happy New Year

Hello and Happy New Year! We just returned from a quick and nostalgic trip to OKC to celebrate the New Year. Its where I met my husband John and where I started my adventure as a mom when I brought home my sweet boy Benjamim. It was fun staying in bricktown. We walked from my brother-in-law, Mark E.'s place right over the riverwalk, to the place where the crowds gathered to watch the ball fall. It was cold but we were warm with lots of coats and bodies all around. The music was loud and fun! They played the old stuff that I guess never goes out of style and that brings back some really fun memories. We clapped and danced a little (much to Ben's dismay). Met up with Cindy, my best friend, the next day and we sat on the roof while Ben splashed in the hot tub and John ran about taking pictures. We talked and reconnected, laughed some, and remembered some. There is nothing better than having friends who have gone through all the ups and downs of life with you. I am blessed to have a few really great ones in my life. Family and those friends all seem to mesh together and they really are truly a part of what matters most in life.

I'm enjoying a few more days off (10 to be exact) before the next semester and rush of new students begins once again. Finished 2 books and starting the 3rd. Fun when the books are exciting and I can't wait to get up to read in the quiet of the morning.

New Years is a time to start over and once again I do. May we all keep aware of the fingerprint of God in our lives each day.

A quick note in a busy time

Hello all, I am getting ready for Scouts - cooking a roast - and listening to cartoon network in the background. This is the season for joy and celebration - why does it feel like I can't keep up with myself? I am joyful - I have a sweet 11 year old son that is the joy of my life. But sometimes the craziness and busyness of life really makes you crazy. I read a note from my friends at Women of Faith - and it seems to stick with me.; It was about how the fingerprint of God is all around us - but we need to take a moment and an effort to see it. So that is my goal in this crazy and wonderful time of the year. Looking for the fingerprint - and everytime I see it - I am humbled and amazed.

Good Morning

Do you ever wake up between 3 and 4am and just give it up and realize that your day has begun. Thats what happened to me tonight and now its 6am but I FINALLY found my old blog and hopefully will be able to use it and connect with my family. Right now I have nothing inspiring to say (interesting that along time ago I titled my blog Professor's Daughter) I am just thankful and happy to have conquered one of my computer inadequacies and am proud to say, I'm here. I'll write more when I'm not so groggy. Sleep is wonderful so don't ever take it for granted.
